The Madibeng municipality promised more roadblocks recently to enforce law enforcement on the roads and road safety, and traffic officials are keeping to their promise.

For the past two weeks, roadblocks have been seen daily in Hartbeespoort and Brits and the Madibeng traffic unit said it is committed to increasing visibility in order to deter criminal activity on the roads. “The aim of these operations is for the community of Madibeng to be free when driving and walking in our streets. We’re promoting safety for drivers and pedestrians by attending to crime on the roads. The public and tourists must feel safe,” said Superintendent Mankga, who is the Operational Commander of Madibeng Traffic.
