Mpho William “Seun” Modirapula (24) appeared in court for the second time for attemped murder after he attacked a 42-year-old woman with a spade in her house in June.

Modirapula was arrested three days later at his home in Bethanie near Brits.

“He was arrested for attempting to murder a 42-year-old woman in Lekgalong village in the policing precinct of Marikana. It is alleged that the accused forcefully gained entrance into the woman’s residence in the early hours on 2 June 2002, then hit her with a spade. The severely injured woman managed to fight back and the accused ran away,” said police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused has two pending rape cases committed in December 2017 and December 2021 in Mooinooi and Pretoria respectively.
Investigation into the matter continues.
