Man arrested after security vehicle rolls

Two security officers were injured near Brits on Saturday when their vehicle overturned while they were attempting to avoid a reckless driver.

According to Chris Degenaar, owner of Afrique du Sud security services, the security officers were responding to a call nearby where a motorist was allegedly involved in an incident. “When the motorist saw the security vehicle, he allegedly drove towards it on the wrong side of the road, seemingly with the intent to hit it. The security officers swerved and lost control of the vehicle and it overturned,” he said.

“The suspect fled the scene but were caught a few minutes later. The two K9 members were taken to hospital and released the next day.”

Police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde said that a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened with the Brits police.
