A 38-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs at Rooikoppies near Brits on Thursday, 12 November, after a sting operation by Brits police. Drugs worth approximately R160 000 were confiscated.

According to police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde the police acted on information and after a police operation, discovered various drugs such as rock cocaine, crystal meth and dagga in the house at Rooikoppies. Zephaniah Ugwu (38) was arrested.

“He was apprehended and the drugs were seized.”

Ugwu appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ court on Monday, 16 November 2020 for dealing in drugs and was granted R1 000 bail. He will appear again before Brits Magistrates’ court on 28 January 2021. The police investigation continues.
