A jet ski rider was seriously injured in a collision with a boat on Hartbeespoort Dam on Sunday.

According to Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), Leandre Spies, the injured person was rescued from the water and brought to the shore close to The Islands estate after the collision. HEMS was called out to the scene where an advanced life support paramedic treated the severely injured patient while waiting for an emergency medical helicopter. The patient was airlifted to a hospital in Johannesburg for specialised treatment.
