Two teams of The Mountain Cambridge School won the South African Solution Seekers Summit (SSS), a unique problem-solving tournament for schools, designed to foster innovation, solution finding, collaboration and skillsets aligned with exploring the challenges presented in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The high school team: Back, Rotshidzwa Muluvhu, Victor Simões, Liam Tucker, Tobias Olivier, en in front Didintle Motshwane, Beatriz Vicente dos Santos, Talita Landsberg (facilitator), Reba Moffome and Boigantsho Maholo.

The tournament aims to guide people in focusing on the opportunities and possibilities to address the most pressing issues our world is currently facing. The Mountain Cambridge School teams took on the challenge of reducing food waste. They collaborated with Panarottis to address this crucial issue. The challenge was to solve the challenge at hand with a 10-minute documentary video to alert the community and explain how change is possible. “Our teams built a meaningful partnership, and we were truly blessed that Werner Nagel agreed to walk this path with us. We want to thank him for his expertise and knowledge he brought to the table,” said the teams’ facilitator Talita Landsberg. The teams were also the overall winners in the Wild Card Challenge. This challenge test their ability to problem solve on the spot. “We, as The Mountain Cambridge School, challenge all the other schools in the community to enter next year’s Solution Seekers Summit so that we can make an impactful change in our community by solving every United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. This is your school’s chance to show that you are not just problem-solvers, but also inspiring leaders and incredible teammates,” she said. Congratulations to The Mountain Cambridge School, you did it again!
