The children’s bodies were found in a canal in the Mamogalieskraal area.

The bodies of two missing children, aged 8 and 10, were found in a canal near Brits on Wednesday.
The siblings were reported missing in the Mamogalieskraal area on Tuesday afternoon when they did not return home from school. According to police spokesperson Constable Ben Moabi, the father found the children’s school uniforms near a canal later in the afternoon.
An intensive search by various police units, Crocodile Community Protection Group members, and community members was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday. Divers from the Hartbeespoort police’s diving unit found the children’s bodies a few kilometres further down the canal shortly before midday on Wednesday.
“The police investigation is ongoing,” Moabi said.
