Mother, daughter gruesomely murdered

A mother (68) and her 34-year-old daughter were gruesomely killed during a home invasion in Hebron on Satuday.

“The mother’s 29-year-old daughter discovered the murdered women when she returned home from work at around 17:00,” said police spokesperson, Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone.

Mokgwabone said the mother fetched a house key earlier on Saturday from the 29-year-old daughter at her workplace. “When the daughter arrived at home, she saw that the kitchen burglar bars and the wooden door were broken. Inside she discovered her mother’s body lying in a pool of blood in the dining room.”

The police were summoned and after searching the house, found the 34-year-old daughter’s body in a bath. Her feet and hands were tied up.

“Both victims were certified dead on the scene by Emergency Medical and Rescue Services (EMRS) paramedics. Further crime scene investigation revealed that items such as a plasma television, DVD Player and the victims’ cell phones were missing.”

The cause of their deaths are not known yet and a postmortem will be performed, he said.

Investigation into the matter continues and nobody has been arrested at this stage.
