N4 claims 3 more lives

Two people tragically died in a collision between a bakkie and a passenger vehicle on the N4 Bakwena highway near Brits in the early hours of Saturday after allegedly trying to avoid rocks on the highway.

Two people died in an accident on the N4 after rocks were allegedly placed in the road again.

A 20-year-old girl from Brits, who was in the bakkie, and the driver of the passenger vehicle were declared dead on the scene. The Jaws of Life was used to extricate one person from the vehicle. The driver of the bakkie sustained light injuries and was transported to the hospital by Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).

A pedestrian was killed when hit by a car on the N4.

On Tuesday evening a pedestrian was killed when hit by a vehicle on the N4 Bakwena highway. “On arrival at the scene two patients were found with moderate injuries, both patients were treated on scene and transported to a hospital in Brits for treatment. Sadly one person was declared deceased on scene,” said HEMS spokesperson Leandre Spies.
