Almost four years after the Schoemansville Library was closed for an upgrade, the new premises opened doors, unnoticed and without any announcement, a few months ago.

Residents would also not notice that the library is open as a back entrance behind the building is used. The old library closed its doors at the end of July 2019 for the construction of an upgraded library to include bathrooms, a toy library, study facilities, and an internet service.
Although the library is open for book exchange, the other services are not yet available. The new building is modern and boasts a children’s reading corner and play area and a study facility where students will be able to study and do assignments.
It is not clear when the library will be operating at full capacity as the Madibeng municipality is not responding to enquiries, despite repeated efforts over the past months.
