A man died and two small children are in a critical condition after a collision between a car and a taxi on the R104 in Bokfontein on Friday night.

“Upon arrival on the scene four adults and two children were found with moderate to severe injuries. Both minors sustained serious injuries and were treated on scene by HEMS’ Advanced Life Support Practitioner. Once stabilised all the patients were transported to hospitals in Brits for further treatment. Because of the extensive injuries of the two children, both were later airlifted by an emergency medical helicopter to a hospital in Johannesburg for specialised treatment,” said HEMS spokesperson. Leandre Spies.
The deceased man and five injured people were all passengers in the car. The driver of the taxi was not on the scene.
