Phase 2 vaccinations kicked off in Brits and Hartbeespoort this week. The North West Department of health commenced with vaccinations of people 60 years and older at an old age homes in Brits, Sonop and Hartbeespoort.

128 people were vaccinated at Brits Rusoord on Monday, 270 at the Sonop Old Age Home and vaccinations were still ongoing at the Hartbeeshof Retirement Village in Hartbeespoort on Wednesday by the time of going to press.

Citizens of 60 and older are encouraged to register for the vaccination on the Electronic Vaccination System (EVDS) on the website vaccine.enroll.health.gov.za. The system is easy to use with instructions telling you what to do. When you are done the system will send a SMS to the phone number you provided. When it is your turn to be vaccinated, you will be alerted by SMS of the date and venue.
