The police are investigating cases of rape and sexual assault of girls aged four and six in Hartbeespoort.

Police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde confirmed that a 54-year-old man was arrested in Hartbeespoort on Monday, 7 December for the alleged rape of a six-year-old girl. He is a family member of the girl. He appeared in the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 8 December.

Another case of sexual assault was opened at the Hartbeespoort police on 26 November. According to Nkabinde a man is accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old girl. He is also a family member of the girl.

“No arrest has been made yet and the police are investigating both cases,” she said.
