The police’s mounted unit has been deployed in Hartbeespoort this week during a large-scale crime prevention operation.

The mounted unit from Rustenburg arrived in Hartbeespoort on Tuesday and conducted an anti-crime operation in the town and Rietfontein smallholdings areas. Later during the week they will also be deployed in the Broederstroom and Skeerpoort areas.

Nine members on horseback are currently patrolling the area. “A big thank you to them for this much-needed visability and also to Pick n Pay Village Mall for providing liquid refreshments to the police members,” Romano van der Spuy, chairman of the Hartbeespoort Community Policing Forum said.
