On Friday morning (16th Sept. 2022) a special operation was launched to address illegal fishing, illegal nets and camps utilized by the perpetrators around Hartbeespoort Dam.

Hartbeespoortdam Police, including SAPS Waterwing joined forces with Bidvest Protea Coin estate protection unit who also deployed their Waterwing and BPC Airwing. SRU and Millennium Security Services were also deployed in the exercise.

Security estate managers also participated.

The group identified campsites and proceeded to confiscate a large amount of netting together with boats utilized in the illegal fishing.
