A popular car guard at Village Mall tragically died in a hit-and-run accident last Thursday.

The well-liked Elias Maswanganyi (30) who has been safeguarding vehicles on the Pick n Pay side of the mall for the past six years, died in the Steve Biko Hospital on Thursday after he was hit by a car in Pretoria the previous night. The driver sped away. Elias leaves his wife and a four-year-old son behind.
