Hartbeespoort boasts many outstanding athletes and talented nine-year-old Oarabile Lefutswe proved it once again when she triumphed at the SACCSA Junior invitation track and field athletic meeting last week.

Oarabile won gold in the high jump and bronze in the 80m sprint for girls under 10.

Oarabile who is a member of the Hartbeespoort Athletic Club and coached by Koos Pansegrouw is one of a number of club athletes who received honours at track and field or cross country meetings this season.

This coming Saturday the South African Cross Country Championship will be held at the Bergsig Academy in Rustenburg and promises to deliver a successful finale to the cross country season with numerous Hartbeespoort junior, senior and masters athletes taking part and hoping to achieve podium finishes.

After the completion of the cross country championship season, athletes switch focus to the athletic track and field season. Young and old athletes have the benefit of a qualified coach who will guide them in their chosen athletic discipline.

Those interested are welcome to contact the club coach Koos Pansgrouw on 082 775 1984 or just turn up for practice at the Hartbeespoort High School sports field from 16:45 from Monday to Thursday.
