The South African flag flying on top of the Magaliesberg Mountain at the Harties Cableway in Hartbeespoort since last week has people talking and speculating.

The impressive flag flying 18 m above the ground and measuring 7 m x 12 m, was first hoisted by the Harties Cableway last Tuesday. And the reason is ‘proudly South African’.

“The cableway has a rich heritage and geological history and we fly the flag because we are proud to be part of South African history,” said Michaéla Vermeulen of the cableway.

“The flag has been planned for months and was finally hoisted last week. We are proudly South African!”
