A reward of R90 000 is offered for information that will lead to the conviction of the murderers of the young Brits father, Juandré Kidson (29) who was shot in the head and killed on the N4 last Saturday, 7 May.

Juandré, his wife, Johanette and their one-year-old baby were driving home to Brits around 21:00 when their Hyandai Santa Fe hit rocks in die road near the R512 Randburg off-ramp. Juandré had to pull off the road and was busy changing a punctured tyre, when he was overpowered by three armed men.
According to his brother, Marco Kidson, Juandré was pleading with the murderers when he was cold-bloodedly shot in the head. Johanette was shot in the shoulder when she resisted when the robbers wanted to take the baby. The robbers fled with the family’s belongings, even the baby’s bottles and milk.
Family, friends and community members have come together and have already raised R90 000 for a reward to catch the killers.
Juandré was the second victim to be shot and killed on the same stretch of road the same day. Two days after the tragic murder, another attempt to rob, and possibly kill, a motorist at the same spot, was thwarted when a fire truck came to the stranded motorist’s assistance. Security services responded and waited with the motorist until help arrived. During this time, two traffic vehicles drove past without stopping to assist the motorist, the security officers told Kormorant.
Questions have been raised the past week on how law enforcement agencies plan to safeguard N4 motorists.
“A reward of R90 000 is offered for information that will lead to the arrest and successful conviction of the killers of my brother,” Marco said.
