Red Bears scoop 81 medals!

Twelve strong swimmers of the Red Bears swimming club in Hartbeespoort scooped a whopping 81 medals during the North West Short Course Championships last weekend. The club brought home 24 gold, 28 silver and 29 bronze medals.

The team is from left back: Marcel Zuur (6 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze), Maya Laubscher (1 gold, 6 bronze), George Cox (2 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze), Kimberley Howes (1 bronze), Gerrick Griffioen (4 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze) Centre: Coach Garth Tune, Nicola Olivier (2 silver, 3 bronze), Tenieka Greyling (2 silver, 4 bronze), Miré Greyling (9 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), Angelina Audagnotti (2 gold, 7 silver, 1 bronze) Front: Liam van Wyk (3 Silver, 5 bronze), Julia Griffioen (1 bronze) and Anja Koen (2 silver, 3 bronze).

12 Strong Swimmers, 1 Great Coach and 81 Medals! Two of the swimmers swam South Africa senior qualifying times. Gerrick Griffioen did a 1m06s87 on his 100 m Breaststroke and Marcel Zuur a 59s26 on his 100m Backstroke.
