Residents held at gunpoint in Schoemansville house robbery

Three residents were attacked and held at gunpoint during an armed house robbery in the early morning hours in Schoemansville on Friday.

“The residents were asleep around 03:30 and one woke up to go to the bathroom when he encountered an armed robber in the corridor,” said Romano van der Spuy, chairman of the Hartbeespoort community policing forum (CPF).

“Two more robbers appeared and all the occupants in the house were gathered. A scuffle ensued and some of the residents sustained light injuries. They were threatened and held at gunpoint while the house was ransacked. The robbers fled with laptops, cellphones, computer equipment and a large amount of Euros.
