SA Covid-19 recovery rate nearing 70 000

Close to 40 000 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, the Department of Health confirmed.

According to the National Department of Health as of yesterday, 28 June, a total of 38 075 Covid-19 tested were conducted in 24 hours.

There are 6 337 new Covid-19 cases, with 43 deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 138 134 and 2 456 deaths. According to information released by the National Department of Health, 78 337 of the recorded cases are female and 58 813 male.

The country has thus far recorded 68 925 recoveries.

A total of 804 248 tested were conducted in the private sector and 762 836 in the public sector.
