Hartbeespoort beauty, Savahna Grimbeek, will run Om Die Dam this weekend to bring awareness to abused women and children and the trauma they experience.
Savahna will represent the B-Loved Foundation which works towards changing the lives of the vulnerable in society. Their programmes include youth development, feeding schemes and community aid projects.
Savahna, a Mrs Globe SA finalist last year, was introduced to the foundation during the pageant. She immediately felt strongly about assisting women and children suffering abuse.
“I decided to run for these women and children to give them a voice and create awareness of their suffering and trauma. With every one of the eight kilometres I run, pray that God will heal the broken women and children out there. Eight means hope, new horizons and a shining future- and that is my wish for all women and daughters.”
Savahna has always loved running and now she is finally using it for a cause close to her heart.
