Four suspects bombed the ATM at Skeerpoort fuel station twice on Friday night but had to flee without any money when the safe did not open.

Residents in the area were alerted by two loud explosions shortly after 23:00 and Oostermoed Security responded.
According to Henri van der Ryst of Oostermoed, the safe was still intact and the suspects fled soon after the second bombing. “The ink was released during the bombing which would stain the money making it impossible to use,” he said.
Security cameras have caught the suspects on film and the Hartbeespoort police are investigating. No arrests have been made yet.
