Simi Ngomane, the newly appointed minister at the Harties Methodist Church in Hartbeespoort, wants to spread love and promote a caring culture in the town.
“Serving in a cross- cultural environment gives me pleasure as I get to bring people of different cultures together for the people not to see color in another person but see a child of God who’s been created in His image. My goal is to build a community that will reach out to different people in many ways, not just by praying for them but also by being there for them in times of need. I want to spread love, and nurture a caring environment. I would also like to see the youth finding a home in our societies and start taking the lead in the church. I love people and meeting with fellow brothers and sisters gives me joy and satisfaction. We therefore invite young people and people who love to sing or play instruments to join us and worship together,” she says.
Her first sermon was on Christmas Day at the church and later the same day at the Brits Methodist Church.
Simi is an ordained Minister of Word and Service and very passionate in reaching out to the poor, the needy, the destitute, house-bound, widows and orphanages. She was also involved in prison ministry, the fight against alcohol and substance abuse and working with the youth.
She previously served at the Willows Methodist Church in Pretoria, and the Mamelodi East Methodist Church.
Simi is married to James Ngomane and the couple has two boys.
