A police spokesperson says a man from Springs was recently leaving for work when he was shot several times by two unknown men.
A 59-year-old man was shot dead in his driveway in Eastvale, Springs, last Sunday.
According to Sergeant Marupeng Maphaya, communications officer for SAPS Ekurhuleni District Zone 3, the man was leaving for work when he was shot several times all over his body by two unknown men.
“This happened while he was reversing out of his driveway,” explained Maphanya.
Upon arrival at the man’s house, police officers found the victim.
“Paramedics certified him dead on the scene. Whilst conducting preliminary investigations surrounding the incident, it was detected that the man had suffered from eight shots,” she added.
The motive of the shooting is unknown and police are investigating the incident.
Police are urging the community to assist them with information about the whereabouts of the perpetrators.
