Despite promises in August of traffic lights in Hartbeespoort to be fixed “within a week”, the town still does not have a single functioning robot.
One of the traffic lights on Saartjiesnek is especially a problem as one robot in one direction works. This has caused a number of accidents.
The Madibeng municipality said at the end of August that a contractor had been appointed and would start repairs immediately. It was envisaged that the repairs would be completed the same week. However, the repairs did not materialise.
Despite Kormorant’s repeated requests in the past month for comment, the municipality did not respond.
