It has been a difficult couple of years for people in many communities, and the communities in and around Hartbeespoort have not been spared.

People’s incomes were negatively affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and so many still struggle to put food on the table for their families.
With this in mind, The Rotary Club Brits Hartbeespoort, launched a project in 2021 to collect tinned food and other non-perishable food to build a mountain of food…a ‘Mountain of Hope’.
Last year they managed to collect food to the value of more than R100 000 which was distributed to those in need in communities in and around Hartbeespoort.
This year, they are hoping to do it again!
Allan Cartey, president of the club said that the aim is to give a little bit of hope to those who need it the most. ‘We were able to assist a lot of families last year with much-needed food and hope to be able to assist even more this year by collecting tinned and non-perishable food. We need the community and businesses to help us to help those less fortunate. Your welcome donation can be dropped off in the Checkers court at Village Mall.’
