Two men were arrested after the deaths of a couple at a cemetery in Mmakau near De Wildt on Thursday.

The couple was found with severe stab wounds and the man died on the scene. The woman was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
“Police were on patrol when they received information about a man and his female friend who were badly stabbed by unknown suspects.
Upon arrival at the cemetery, the male victim was found lying motionless on the ground with stab wounds on his upper body. The woman was already transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to the injuries sustained during the attack,” said police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde.
“The police acted on information received from members of the community who allegedly saw the attack on the couple. Police searched for the suspects and found them walking in a street in Mmakau. They were arrested.”
The murder weapons used during the attack on the couple were found at the accused’s respective places of residence.
The two suspects, Calvin Bongani Ndlovu (28) and Tsebane Tlou (31) appeared before the Brits Magistrates’ Court on murder charges on Monday.
