The North West Department of Health confirmed on Friday that a woman tested positive for the virus.

The young woman presented with cold symptoms and visited a doctor in Hartbeespoort. Over the weekend a second case was confirmed after a Hartbeespoort woman tested positive for Covid-19 at a hospital in Gauteng. The woman was routinely tested before having a medical procedure.
These are the first cases reported in Hartbeespoort since April.
Another Covid-19 case was also confirmed in Brits last week. The Madibeng municipal area now has a total of 16 cases. Eleven people have recovered.
On Sunday, 31 May, North West had a total of 175 cases, of which 45 had recovered. So far only one Covid-19 death has been reported.
