
Brits has two new Covid-19 cases, the North West Department of Health announced on Friday, 1 May.
The two cases were identified during the department’s current mass screening in the Madibeng municipal area and the rest of the province. Both cases are women, respectively aged 32 and 39. Brits and Hartbeespoort now each have four cases.
Spokesperson Tebogo Lekgwetane said the department’s contact tracing team in Madibeng will begin a process of tracing all people the two women had been in contact with.
North West now has 31 Covid-19 cases. Twenty people have recovered and four people are in hospital.
The total number of people screened for COVID-19 in North West is 1 052 178 and 2544 tests have been done in public and private laboratories.
