Two men who robbed a house and attempted to rape a woman in Hebron, were caught by community members and seriously assaulted before the police intervened.

According to police spokesperson, Colonel Amanda Funani, the two men were accused of terrorising the community, committing house robbery and attempted rape.

The two men, armed with a hammer and a big knife, allegedly broke into the house of a 22-year-old woman, assaulted her boyfriend and stole money, household items and groceries before fleeing. They took the woman with them and attempted to rape her in nearby bushes. “They were allegedly interrupted when they heard voices of people passing by. The victim ran back home and community members searched and apprehended the suspects.

Stolen property was found in their possession. The members of the community badly assaulted and injured the two men, “Funani said.
