Two people were wounded after protesting workers turned violent and tried to grab a security officer’s weapon at a well-known farm near Brits on Monday morning.

According to information a group of between 150 to 200 people gathered at Langplaas farm on the R512 near Brits, allegedly because of a loan dispute.
“The protest turned violent and there was an attempt to take a security officer’s firearm. Rubber bullets were fired in self-defense and two people were wounded,” said Quintin Dunn, owner of PPS Security.
Police were dispatched to the scene to bring the situation under control.
