A woman had to be rescued from a hiking trail near Hekpoort last Saturday after she fell and injured her leg.
According to Shawn Herbst of Netcare 911, the woman in her thirties, lost her footing and fell. Members of Mountain Search and Rescue, Search and Rescue SA, and Netcare 911 paramedics climbed the trail to assist the injured woman. “She was treated on scene and carried out on a specialised stretcher to an awaiting ambulance,” Herbst said.
