Woman tied up for four hours after Skeerpoort farm attack

A 60-year-old woman was tied up for four hours after she was attacked by three robbers on her farm in Skeerpoort on Sunday evening, 30 August 2020.

According to Oostermoed Security, the woman was at the stables to check on her horses around 19:00 when she was attacked by three men. She was tied up and told to stay still. The men then went to her house where they took cash, liquor and cigarettes.

The robbers tried to flee in her vehicle but crashed into a tree on the property after which they fled on foot.

“The woman only managed to free herself at around 23:00. She ran and shouted for help and a neighbour heard her calls and alerted Oostermoed Security.”

“The woman was not injured and only sustained bruising to her wrists from being tied up,” said police spokesperson, Maria Nkabinde.

The Hartbeespoort police were on the scene and are investigating the attack. No arrests have been made.
