‘How will you clean up your doorstep?’ the Xanadu Nature Estate is asking businesses along the R511 from Saartjiesnek to the Hartbeespoort High School.
Xanadu and Hart Mark are joining hands with the Rotary Club of Brits-Hartbeespoort, WESSA, Birdlife SA and other stakeholders in support of the Harties Clean & Restore clean-up initiative. Many businesses have shown commitment to the project and the commencement of their involvement has already started to show progress.
“Xanadu Nature Estate is concerned that the entry to Hartbeespoort has not been a focus for quite some time. Xanadu challenges each business along the main road from Saartjiesneck all the way to Hartbeespoort High School to help clean up the area and to encourage your neighbours to do the same. How will you clean up your doorstep?,” said estate manager, Carla Durand.
“If every neighbour along the main road takes care of their doorstep, it would already make the world of difference. In April 2022, Xanadu Nature Estate took the liberty of fixing the traffic lights just outside of the estate, as it was becoming a safety hazard to drivers and pedestrians in Hartbeespoort. This is just one of the many small things that a business can do to make a difference in the community,” she said.
The project does not only require sponsorships and funds but manpower and initiative. Hart Mark has committed to provide staff and vehicles to assist in the clean-up and will provide T-shirts and plastic bags for the day. They have gone a step further in committing towards the maintenance of their area on a weekly basis. Roadchem has made it possible for the community to sponsor a bag of cement at R65 that can be utilised to repair potholes. Xanadu Nature Estate is sending out a team to tidy up the streets, cut the grass and assist with the repairing of worn-out infrastructure.
“We call upon each business and neighbour to join hands in this important project.”
