Hartbeespoort High School’s debating team, Armin Steyn, Refiloe Masetla, Angelica Shaw and Kele Motshoane, participated in the second round of the National Debating League recently. The seniors had to argue that South Africa should not withdraw its troops from the DRC, and that South Africa should legalise artisanal mining. Both rounds of debates were nail biters, and our debaters performed brilliantly. The seniors won their first round against Amberfield, and Armin Steyn was also awarded as the best speaker during the first round.
