Two people died and 16 were injured in two accidents in Brits on Friday morning.

Two cars and a bakkie pulling a trailer crashed in what seems like a head-on collision near the Alpha crossing in Brits at around 04:00. A motorist, and presumably a pedestrian, died in the crash. They were declared dead at the scene.
Approximately two hours later, a taxi rolled at the Oukasie township on Wagpos Road, leaving 16 people injured. “HEMS transported 12 patients, some of them in serious condition, to a hospital in Brits,” Leandre Spies, spokesperson for HEMS, said. The cause of the accident is currently not known.
