Out with the new, in with the newer
The acting municipal manager who was appointed just more than a month ago, was already replaced last week due to his lack of qualifications for the post.

Seithati Monyaki was appointed as the newest acting municipal manager.
Daniel Masemola was appointed as acting municipal manager at the end of April after the municipal manager, Quiet Kgatla was suspended a mere four months after his appointment. Masemola, in turn, was replaced by Seithati Monyaki, director of Local Economic Development in Madibeng, last week.
This follows after the COGTA MEC advised the council to reconsider its decision on the appointment of the acting municipal manager since the incumbent does not have the required qualification and experience as set out in the relevant legislation. The municipal manager post demands a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration/Political Sciences/Social Sciences/Law or equivalent, as well as five years of experience at senior management level. Masemola’s qualifications and experience are not in line with the requirements.
In the meantime, the municipal manager, Quiet Kgatla has taken the municipality to court for unlawful suspension.
