Pecanwood College blanket drive
Pecanwood College’s Grade 7 leaders from Ibis, Cormorant, and Kingfisher have been hard at work on their Community Service Project – a heartfelt Blanket Drive that ran from 2 June to 30 June 2025.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of students from Grade 1 to Grade 7, a record number of blankets were collected!
Last week the Grade 7s personally delivered the donated blankets to HAWS (Hartbeespoort Animal Welfare Society), House Lesedi and Touch Community Network. A huge thank you to the entire Pecanwood College community for your warmth, kindness, and continued support!
This past week, the Grade 7s had the privilege of personally delivering the donations to the three local organisations. Each drop-off was a moment of connection and learning, as the students witnessed first-hand how their efforts would help bring warmth and comfort to people and animals in need during the winter months.
The Blanket Drive is just one example of how Pecanwood Prep fosters a culture of responsibility, kindness, and active citizenship. As the school continues to grow future leaders, projects like these ensure that students understand the value of giving back — and the warmth a simple gesture can bring.
