A luxury vehicle crashed into a business premises in Hartbeespoort with such force that it flipped over a palisade wall on Sunday night.
According to eyewitnesses, a yellow Mercedes hit a mini substation and the palisade wall behind Dreiers Hardware around 18:30, flipping over and shattering the wall. “The impact moved the mini substation, and the power supply to the surrounding area was interrupted. Bricks were scattered in a 50m radius around the accident,” an eyewitness said.
“The two people in the vehicle were not seriously injured and we transported them to a hospital in Pretoria,” said Leandre Spies, spokesperson for Hartbeespoort Emergency Medical Service (HEMS).

Technicians from Madibeng Municipality were on the scene soon after the accident to restore the electricity supply.
