26 Hartbeespoort athletes compete in Comrades
Twenty-six Hartbeespoort athletes competed and finished the 87km Comrades marathon from Durban to Pietermaritzburg.
Twenty-one men and five women athletes competed with some remarkable milestones achieved in this race.
Rudi Rabe finished his 30th consecutive run, Johan Klue finished his 25th run and six novice runners completed their first run.
The first male runner from Hartbeespoort over the line was Peru Fourie in a time of 7:22 and the first female was Antoinette Hartslief in a time of 9:47.
The Hartbeespoort Marathon Club brought home one silver medal (under 07:30 hours), four Bill Rowan medals (07:30 to 09:00 hours), four Robert Mtshali medals (09:00 to 10:00), eight bronze medals (10:00 to 11:00 hours) and nine Vic Clapham medals (11:00 to 12 hours).
