A man was electrocuted and died while trying to steal electricity cables in Hartbeespoort on Monday night.
The man climbed an electricity pole on Bach Street in Melodie close to the offices of PWV Security. Security officers at the scene said the man used a knife to loosen the fuses and electrocuted himself in the process. He plunged to the ground.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Hartbeespoort police are investigating the incident.
