Latest version of Birds of the Magaliesberg Biosphere
The latest updated version 5 of Birds of the Magaliesberg Biosphere has just been released.
This free e-book written by John Wesson and Renier Balt is a great tool for bird-loving residents, conservationists and tourists alike.
A product of WESSA Northern Areas, Rotary Club of Brits Hartbeespoort and Birdlife Harties, the first version was written by John Wesson in 2010 as a Rotary centenary project as part of the Rotary Preserve Planet Earth programme. The e-book has recently been endorsed by BirdLife South Africa
Birds of the Magaliesberg Biosphere features an introduction by Vincent Carruthers, detailed hot spot sites, write-ups and photo pages, detailed accounts of habitat types and seven sub-areas in the region with detailed accounts of where to look for birds as well as the most up-to-date lists of birds based on the latest SABAP2 data.
It also gives details of how to become part of iNaturalist and join the growing group of citizen scientists worldwide. It features a gallery of special birds to look out for.
