Learners introduced to career opportunities
The Rocking Future career expos, dedicated to helping South African school leavers to choose the best career path, recently visited the Xanadu Private School to advise learners on developing skills and find employment in a country with a critically high youth unemployment rate.

Xanadu Private School learners Emma Kolotsi, Masego Masilo and Galaletsang Lesolang.
“For 24 years, the expos have been helping South African high school students to discover the exciting opportunities that await them once they leave school. This can be a very daunting time for students, especially those unsure what to do and how to find a job when they finish school. Through the career expos the Rocking Future 3RC team, together with a top-class selection of tertiary educational organisations, help students to understand the options available and to decide what careers suit their personality, skills and ambitions,” says Vicky Saunders-Flaherty.
“We are on a mission to spotlight extraordinary students in our schools who exemplify passion and dedication. We’re looking for young entrepreneurs, talented performers, culinary creators, creative artists, sports champions and tech innovators. We believe these young minds are the future.”
In April 2025, the organisation will share a link to their website where schools can nominate one outstanding Grade 11 student from their school. The top 20 nominees from across South Africa will receive bursaries from leading private tertiary institutions and other prizes.
