Long-awaited Wagpos road project to start soon
The long-awaited repair of Wagpos Road will start in February.

Community members blocked the Wagpos Road on Monday in protest against the road condition.
The North West roads department said the R33,5m project is envisaged to start in the second week of February 2025 and the estimated duration is six months.
According to spokesperson Subrey Motsurupe the contractor is currently busy with site establishment and implementing resource mobilisation and safety measures. The scope of work for this project includes, among other things, identifying damage, excavation, compacting, patching damaged areas, resealing, pothole repairs, stabilisation, road markings and signage.
The project will also include the repair and clearing of drainage structures. Motsurupe said part of the process will be temporary traffic control and diversion for the duration of the project.
