Voting started smoothly and peacefully in Hartbeespoort and Brits on Wednesday.
Residents arrived in their thousands well before voting booths opened and queued patiently awaiting their turn. Some small hiccups with network systems were reported at a few voting stations early morning but were speedily fixed. No serious incidents were reported by the time of going to press.
