The Aequitas Security team caught and arrested three suspected car thieves red-handed in Hartbeespoort on Friday.
According to Aequitas Security, the team responded to a silent panic alert at Makalani and came upon three men in a white Volkswagen Jetta trying to steal a vehicle and gain access to nearby homes.
“Our team arrived just in time and caught them red-handed with a stolen laptop and a firearm in their possession. They were busted attempting to steal a blue Opel Corsa and didn’t get a chance to break into the house. Hartbeespoort police took over the scene and the suspects were taken into police custody,” said Aequitas spokesperson Ettienne Louw.
According to police spokesperson Constable Ben Moabi, Kishan Pillay (42),Shaylin Moodly (25) and Sheldon Arnechellan (28) were arrested after they were allegedly caught stealing from a motor vehicle.
“The case was before Brits Magistrates Court on Monday,13 May 2025, but the case was not enrolled. One of the suspects is linked to two pending cases of murder. The investigation continues,” he said.
