Hartbeespoort police arrested two alleged murderers after the discovery of a body under a bridge in Broederstroom last week.
Bonginkosi Gift Ndaba (31) and Sithembiso Asha Zwane (39) were arrested after the body of 41-year-old Innocent Mandla Dlamini was found along Lanseria Road on 22 October. “His identity card was found in his pocket. Police tracked down family members, who positively identified the body. During the murder investigation, Hartbeespoortdam detectives, in collaboration with the police K9 Unit and Visible Policing members, traced Ndaba and Zwane and arrested them the same day,” said police spokesperson Colonel Adéle Myburgh.
“It is alleged that Dlamini was assaulted in the early hours of Sunday, 21 October 2024, following a quarrel that ensued between him and the accused. Ndaba and Zwane, who were in a Toyota Quantum, ran over Dlamini in a street in Chloorkop in Gauteng. “The pair then loaded Dlamini’s body into the vehicle and dumped it under the bridge on Lanseria Road in Broederstroom,” Myburgh said.
Ndaba and Zwane appeared in the Brits Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 October 2024, for murder and defeating the ends of justice. Both men were remanded in custody until Monday, 4 November 2024, for their bail application.
