The Hartbeespoort Dam Law Enforcement Agency issued a warning for boaters and other dam users to be aware of a sunken jetty just under the surface of Hartbeespoort Dam.

The general area where the sunken jetty is expected to be.

According to Arthur Crewe, they have received numerous reports about the sunken jetty in the dam between Kosmos and Hartbeespoort Snake and Animal Park.
“It is suspected that it may currently be submerged in hyacinth. Boaters, skiers and jet bikers must be very careful not to hit it. It can cause terrible accidents,” Crewe said. “We currently do not know where the jetty is from, or its size.”
The Hartbeespoort Dam Law Enforcement Agency is currently looking for the jetty and requests boaters and other dam users to be careful and inform them immediately if they come across it. Contact 083 703 7399.
